After “Rocky Raccoon” finishes, pause both the album and the CD player. After switching discs, start Disc 2 and unpause the film at the same time. Play all of Disc 2 until the film is over. Alternatively, you can just make an iTunes playlist and take out “Don’t Pass Me By”, “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road?”, “I Will”, and “Julia”.

Connections

  • Well for one the whole album cover is white so you got that.
  • There is a small figurine of Snow White on the cover of the Beatles’ album, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”.
  • Upon seeing the dwarfs’ house for the first time, Snow White refers to it looking “just like a doll’s house”. “A Doll’s House” was actually the working title for this very album (though this title was apparently actually taken from the play of the same name.)
  • Some of the song titles could refer to things in the film. Glass Onion could be reference to The Evil Queen’s magic mirror. Rocky Raccoon and Blackbird: Snow White meets some woodland creatures before she meets the dwarfs, two of them being raccoons and birds.

Lyrical/musical connections

Back in the U.S.S.R.
  • As the Evil Queen summons the magic mirror, fire, wind, and thunder can be seen as the sounds of an airplane engine can be heard in the song.

Dear Prudence
  • The scene fades to Snow White working in the courtyard as “It’s beautiful, and so are you” is sung.

  • “The birds will sing…” is sung when we see the birds Snow White is singing with perched on the wishing well.

  • “Look around” - Snow White watches some of the birds fly around.

  • “Let me see you smile” - We see the Prince climb over the wall, smiling as he sees Snow White.

  • The last verse of the song, “Dear Prudence, won’t you come out to play?, etc.” - Describes the Prince calling out to Snow White from outside the castle. The rest of the last verse also works notably well with the rest of the scene.

Glass Onion
  • “Looking through the bent-back tulips” - as the Evil Queen orders the Huntsman to kill Snow White in a secluded area, specifically while she is distracted picking flowers.

  • “Lady Madonna trying to make ends meet yeah” - The Evil Queen presents the box which she gives to the huntsman, in which he is to put Snow White’s heart.

  • “Looking through a Glass Onion” - as it zooms into the box.

  • “Listen to me” - As Snow White talks to the lost bird.

  • The ominous orchestral outro of the song begins exactly when the Huntsman begins to approach Snow White.

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da

Wild Honey Pie

The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill
  • “Taken by surprise” - as the birds lead Snow White towards the dwarfs’ home.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps
  • “I look at you all” - Snow White sees the dwarfs’ messy table, with some of the animals on it.

  • “I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping” - Snow White notices that the dwarfs’ home is incredibly untidy. During this particular line, she finds that the fireplace mantle is covered in a layer of dust.

Happiness Is a Warm Gun
  • “Multicolored mirrors” - the scene changes to the dwarfs hard at work, mining several colorful and shimmering gems.

  • “While his hands are busy working overtime” as the dwarfs dig with their pickaxes.

  • “Bang, bang, shoot, shoot…” as two miniature figures on a clock bang on a miniature anvil, indicating that the dwarfs’ work day is through.

Martha My Dear
  • “Help yourself to a bit of what is all around you” - Snow White enters the bedroom, looking around. She will later “help herself” to the dwarfs’ beds.

  • “Take a good look, you’re bound to see” - as the animals look at the ends of the beds, which each have the names of the Dwarfs.

I'm So Tired
  • “I don’t know what to do” - The Dwarfs see their house is being occupied without them.

Blackbird
  • “Take these sunken eyes” - As we see Sleepy, and of course, his tired sunken-looking eyes.

  • “Blackbird fly” - As the Dwarfs raise Sneezy up by his nose to stop him from sneezing.

Piggies
  • “...up” - The Dwarfs look up the stairs.

  • “clutching…” - Dopey nervously holds a candle.

Rocky Raccoon
  • “One day his woman ran off…” as all the dwarfs race frightenedly out their door.

  • “Hit young Rocky in the eye” as Dopey runs face-first straight into the door.

  • “...his dreams” - as Dopey makes a sleeping gesture.

  • “In the next room” - The Dwarfs peer into the bedroom.

  • “The doctor came in” as Doc is on-screen.

  • “And Rocky said, Doc, it’s only a scratch” - Doc’s bed with his name on it is visible in the background.

(SKIP Don’t Pass Me By, Why Don’t We Do It In The Road?, I Will, and Julia)
Birthday
Yer Blues
Mother Nature's Son
  • “Sit beside a mountain stream, see her waters rise.” as the dwarfs wash their faces and hands in a trough of water.

  • “...as she flies” when a fly is on-screen.

Everybody's Got Something to Hide, Except for me and My Monkey
  • “Come on come on! (x2)!” - The other six dwarfs drag Grumpy into the water to get him washed.

  • “The deeper you go, the higher you fly. The higher you fly, the deeper you go…” - The soap flies up into the air repeatedly as Dopey tries to grab hold of it.

Sexy Sadie
  • The whole song seems to sync up rather well with The Evil Queen’s transformation into the old and witch-like peddler. The song fades out as her disguise is completed.

  • “You made a fool of everyone (x2)” - The Evil Queen claims to the Magic Mirror that Snow Whites heart is in the box.

  • “You broke the rules” - She looks in the box to find that The Huntsman has failed her.

  • “...down for all to see” - The Evil Queen rushes down stairs as numerous rats watch her go by.

  • “...waiting just for you” - The Evil Queen finds her book of Disguises.

Helter Skelter
  • “...and I turn” - Grumpy turns his back to play the organ.

  • A single cymbal crash can be heard when Sleepy attempts to swat a fly off of his nose, but instead hits himself in the face with a cymbal.

Long, Long, Long
  • Dopey gets shot into the air from Sneezy’s sneeze right on a cymbal crash.

Revolution 1
  • “You ask me for a contribution” - Snow White quickly finishes her bedside prayer.

Honey Pie
  • “...the wind that blew her boat across the sea” - The Evil Queen, in full disguise, embarks on a rowboat to poison Snow White with the apple.

Savoy Truffle
  • “Yes, you know it’s good news” - After Bashful is kissed on the head by Snow White.

  • “The sweat is gonna fill your head” as Grumpy wipes the sweat from his forehead.

Cry Baby Cry
  • “...in the kitchen, cooking breakfast…” as Snow White begins to bake a pie for Grumpy.

Revolution 9
  • “A little bit older, and a little bit slower”- While The Evil Queen in her old peddler disguise is on-screen.

  • The sound of applause/white noise emulates the sound of the rain.

  • A group of men can be heard talking/shouting as the Dwarfs catch up to The Evil Queen.

  • “Which wasn’t any good at all” - The Evil Queen falls off the cliff to her death.

  • The sound of flames in the song sounds like rain hitting the ground.

  • “My wings are broken” as the vultures swoop down after The Evil Queen has fallen to her death off the cliff.

  • The sound of flames can be heard as candles near Snow White’s deathbed are shown.

  • Unused vocal ad-libs from “Revolution 1” sound somewhat like hysterical weeping/sobbing as all seven dwarfs can be seen crying and mourning over Snow White, seemingly dead.

  • “Onion soup” makes more sense here than it does in the actual song. After all, what do you do when you chop up onions?

  • Abrupt cut in song as scene changes

Good Night
  • The song plays almost just as soon as the Prince arrives and Snow White is awoken by his kiss. The song plays until just ever-so-slightly past the end of the film. If you’ve ever heard this song, you could imagine why it would fit well over the end of a Disney film.
